December 11, 2017
The weather has become quite fixed around zero Centigrade and either frosty or snow showers. I have not gone to club for people with memory difficulties on Monday afternoons or choir activities as I have had a attack of pharyngitis. This has also meant the preparations for Christmas concerts and some of the concerts themselves during the month I had to miss. The approach to Christmas with its message of God’s love and its wonder and especially singing about it is an antidote to the insistent commercial and hedonistic messages from hoardings and the media. Luckily I had recovered for an interfaith concert on the 18th and enjoyed at least one celebratory sing.
Being at my daughters for Christmas was good – we enjoyed meeting her in-laws once again. Snowy weather made us stay an extra night, because of the snow in the Cambridge area.
